Our Story
Anold Mulaisho is the visionary founder and Managing Director of the Queer & Trans Migrant Advocacy Alliance of Windsor-Essex. As an intersex Zambian-born LGBTQ+ refugee, their personal journey has deeply informed their commitment to supporting queer migrants through the complex challenges of resettlement.
Drawing from their lived experience and professional expertise as a life coach, Anold specializes in helping LGBTQ+ migrants navigate the often overwhelming processes of securing documentation, finding safe housing, accessing mental health support, and building community in their new home. Their trauma-informed approach recognizes the unique intersections of identity, displacement, and resilience that shape each person's journey.
Through their leadership at the Alliance, Anold has created a comprehensive support system that addresses both the practical and emotional needs of LGBTQ+ migrants and refugees. Their work embodies the belief that everyone deserves not just safety, but the opportunity to thrive authentically in their new communities.
